Gil Shamai

Dr. Gil Shamai received his P.hD. on March 2020 from the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Technion, and is currently doing a postdoc at the Geometric Image processing (GIP) laboratory, headed by Prof. Ron Kimmel. His initial interests were theoretical and computational methods in metric geometry and their application to problems in manifold learning, multidimensional scaling procedures and fast geodesics computation. Later on, he focused on 3D human face synthesis and reconstruction using adversarial neural networks.

During his Ph.D, he showed that the cancer imprints a unique signature, detectable by artificial intelligence, which reflects upon the molecular profile of the tumor cells. His current interests are digital pathology and bio-convergence.
